What do you call your series of artwork?

– It’s called 'Fragments', each canvas captures the myriad fragments of the world that have touched my senses, creating a sanctuary for my heart through painting.

What technique have you used?

– I use canvases with diverse textures, I combine the flow of oil paint and the delicate lines of crayons to bring forth a painting onto the canvas. The raw materials and technique, intertwined with my brain and emotions, converge and complement each other.

What inspired you to create the artworks you have made for The Ode To?

– The vivid spectacle of mist hovering above Kesennuma's sea during a radiant sunset. Timeless views from my parents' house. Ancient relics in Greece amidst wild, lush grasslands. Nostalgic Korean landscapes in the foreground with historic mountains in the background. The crisp air of a German winter, with pale snow layers beneath cloudy skies. Sacred Italian mountains and the crystalline clarity of Swedish lakes.

Can you tell us about your background and how you came to be an artist?

– As a child, I enjoyed drawing flowers, forests, skies over fields, gardens, and mountains. The 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake disrupted my art for a while, but when I resumed, my style transformed drastically, shifting away from figurative objects. My current work is rooted in my senses, emphasizing the presence of the invisible.

How would you describe your art and aesthetics in three words?

– Unconscious, Perception, Invisible
