Hayley McCrirrick is a Scottish artist working with textiles and natural dyes in a very hands on, tactile process. She established her studio in 2018 and since then has shown work in London, Edinburgh and Paris, also completing various commercial and private commissions in the UK and USA.

Taking a responsive approach to her rural Scottish surroundings Hayley seeks to create work which feels grounded and intrinsically linked to the landscape. Natural materials and traditional craft techniques inform and inspire her practice on cloth and paper.

Textile dyeing shapes the foundation of Hayley McCrirrick's creative practice. Its restrictive nature informs almost every element within her work. Through working with these restrictive elements, she hope to seek out ultimate refinement within her practice.

We find that with restrictions come great creativity and we love how Hayley's artworks in a minimalist way reminds us of tree lines. The natural linen paired with the intense coloured dye and the oak wooden frame, gives a very minimalist yet warm look. Yes, we did get the paintings for our own homes ;)
