Sabine Fasching
At The Ode To we are always curious to learn more about creativity and artistry, so we asked Sabine Fasching to tell us a little bit about her life, her art and her sources of inspiration.
What do you call your series of artworks, and why?
– My series is called ‘Everyday Poetry’, simply because I draw from observing and reflecting on my daily life.
What technique have you used?
– I’m drawing through observation with colored pencil, sometimes in combination with crayons.
What inspired you to create these artworks for The Ode To?
– The joy and love for everyday objects and the people in my life.
What other artists do you admire?
– I admire the artist Ida Björs in particular. She is an Illustrator and painter and I find her work to be both genuine and undisguised. I also admire Stina Persson, Daniel Freaker, Hannah Pontin just to name a few.
Could you tell us about your background and how you came to be an artist?
– I have a Master's degree in German Language and Literature, and I have worked as a scientific librarian. I also have a basic education in arts. Drawing and writing have always been passions of mine.
How would you describe your art and aesthetics in three words?
– Poetic, vivid, heartfelt
